Shauna Nash
PRINCIPAL PODIATRIST
BSc (HONS) MRCPOD
II have been practicing podiatry since 2012 qualifying from Salford University, and completing further masters modules in Vascular studies and Independent prescribing.
I choose podiatry as a career pathway as I have always had a keen interest in sports coming from a family involved with both boxing and Judo. I found podiatry was a way of having a profound long term impact on patients' lives.
My main interests in podiatry involve treatment of sports injuries and foot pain. I am a phits expert trained in gait analysis and foot scanning technology. Our aim is to assess and not guess and I believe for this evidence based care and use of technology to do this is the way forward. I love orthotics ( They are not all made hard, bulky and uncomfortable) please feel free to ask any questions if you attend.
I have worked as a Clinical Specialist Podiatrist within the NHS successfully leaving for full time private practice at team lead level. I loved my time within the health service however I was very keen to get back home!
Within this role I treated the smallest verruce to the most challenging gangrene.
I have a 3 year old daughter who takes up most of my spare time but there is nothing else id rather do!
Katia Ingham
PODIATRIST
BSc (HONS) MRCPOD
Although I have been a practicing podiatrist since 2006, prior to this I had a nursing background and I've always had a genuine desire to help people.
I have practiced podiatry globally, returning to Blackpool Teaching Hospital after being based in Australia, but my favorite place to practice by far is Derry.
I enjoy all aspects of podiatry although my special interests lie with diabetes and dermatology. It safe to say skin is my thing!
My time within the NHS allowed me to gain valuable knowledge and experience on diagnosing and managing long term health conditions such as circulation problems, diabetes, arthritis and renal issues.
I provide treatments from the smallest corn, the most painful ingrown toenail to comprehensive diabetes and vascular assessments- do you know what your podiatrist can do for you?
As Podiatry Team leader at Blackpool teaching Hospital I was very passionate about service improvement and reducing health inequalities. My biggest achievement was setting up Podiatry Treatment for the homeless, something close to my heart.
I love the great outdoors and walking my dog Max, we are looking forward to exploring more of the local scenery.
